The man died.
A great man!
An icon!
A great fighter!
A fearless advocate!
A champion of the oppressed!
A great son!
A great father!
A great husband!
A great Statesman!
A luminary Genius!
A freedom fighter!
A courageous and dogged Nationalist!
CHIEF GANI FAWEHINMI!
Quietly he came, loudly he lived and slowly he died, stolen from us by the cold and wicked hands of cancer!
GANI! We thank you for living a life of courage, truth and candour!
GANI! We thank you for being the man of the people, the hero of the oppressed, and the forgotten.
GANI! We thank you for being a shining light and a great example of who a true democrat should be!
GANI! We thank you for being a giant within our political landscape.
GANI! We thank you for being the voice of the voiceless and the face of the faceless, a crusader of truth, fairness, equity and justice.
GANI! We thank you for being the hope of the hopeless, thank you for fighting so hard and for so long, you entire life was dedicated to the struggle for the oppressed and the Nigerian people, you were not afraid to lay down your life for the cause you believed in and the Nation you stood for .
Y ou stood alone and fought alone every power that oppressed, and stifled the spirit of the people of Nigeria.
GANI! We thank you for carrying the touch of freedom, and for speaking out for the liberty of our people for so long!
GANI! You legacy lives ON! You will never be forgotten, your name has been written into the hearts and minds of men and women and children in Nigeria, Africa and the entire world!
GANI! You are not dead for great men don’t die! They live on forever leaving their names, their words and their ideologies in the minds of generations yet unborn.
GANI! You live forever in our hearts; you lived as an icon, a light a STAR! A man of great destiny!
We weep not for you but for our great nation because we have lost a great warrior who always was ready to battle the powers that be! Who will take your place! Who has your courage? Who can withstand your pain and your struggle, None GANI! No not any! Your loss is colossal, a monumental loss to our dear Nation! We weep because the last man standing has gone yonder to the place of the dead, but you GANI are not dead!
You remain our HERO! A Nationalist! A true democrat and a luminary genius!
You are loved by the poor, the oppressed, the voiceless, the downtrodden, and the teeming masses of the Nigerian state! Those that hate you hate themselves because they have NO CONSIENCE!
We mourn and we celebrate, because “YOU CAME, SAW AND CONQUERED”
Thank you for living your life for the great people of Nigeria!
GANI, you are not dead! You LIVED and can never die! Great men don’t die they merely sleep because they have left behind a legacy that transcends time! You are that great man, the very last man standing!
ADIEU GREAT ONE! You fought till the very end, you are one of Nigeria’s greatest and finest!
You fought with an unconquerable spirit and No power, no government, no body was able to conquer your indomitable spirit, you never bowed to the cabal.
You were always prepared to die for the cause that you believed in, we mourn our loss but celebrate your great life and legacy.
ADIEU GREAT ONE!

ADIEU CHAMPION OF THE OPPRESSED!
ADIEU our HERO!
REST NOW! For you have fought a good fight and you have left a great legacy!
