RAISE
THE BAR.
We have just begun a new year and
usually we have dreams, goals and aspirations for the new-year.
Our goals are usually short term or
long term in the course of the year. Our dreams, goals and aspirations are
usually what we desire to happen in our lives and they can be simple, bogus or
just plain outrageous.
My message for this new week and month
is simple; RAISE THE BAR!! You might ask me why raise the bar and I ask you why
not?? For example if you had planned to grow your business 5 times bigger than what it
is now I’d say increase the growth rate to 10times and if you had planned to
reach 300 more customers in 2013 then I’d say reach 700. And if you had planned
to reach 100 souls for Christ in 2013 then I’d say reach 300 souls instead so
that is my concept of raising the bar. It is a call to do more because more is
better and also because you do have within you the capacity to do more and be
more.
Every New Year presents us a blank
cheque wherein we can draw huge investments and reap huge rewards depending on
the work we are prepared to put in and also depending on the depth and quality
of our vision for the year.
Let me give you an example of my year
in 2011. In 2011 I decided that I would complete, print, publish and launch my
debut book and I focused 100percent on this singular venture and committed
everything, time, energy, resources, commitment, prayers and sweat into
ensuring that this dream came to see the light of day and true to visioning
that was exactly what happened not that I did not have huge challenges of
people trying to frustrate my effort or having to combat a shortage of funds
but by December 20, 2011 the LORD JESUS crowned all my effort with a huge
success and today I am living and building on the rewards of that singular
dream so it is important to have such consuming goals and aspirations in the
course of every new year.
I realize that we are not all
entrepreneurs and that some of us work for big organizations and this whole
question of dreaming dreams and achieving them might seem bogus but the truth
is that regardless of which side of the spectrum you find yourself you can still
dream, achieve and even raise the bar in life.
We must work at growing our lives in
every area of life including spiritually, physically, mentally, socially,
financially, materially, and our relationships too. We must set clear cut goals
in this area of our lives and work diligently daily at achieving our dreams and
visions and if we properly review the previous year 2012 then it will be clear
where we need to properly focus and up our game.
It cannot be business as usually
because to see the new in life we have to be prepared to believe differently
and act differently. We cannot continue as before and expect the same results.
We must resolve to grow and growing must be purposefully executed and followed
through.
We must set goals and ensure that our
goals meet the smart test. It must be specific, measurable, attainable,
realistic, and timed.
We must resolve that this new-year
2013 will be a much better year than 2012 and the way to do this is to
critically review 2012 with a view of mopping our deficiencies and ensuring
that we put in place platforms of growth and development in every area of our
lives in this new-year and the best time to do this is now. Now is the time to
set in motion things that will help us to achieve greater results in 2103.
Some of us have already perfected this
art and act but the rest of us must put pen to paper now and begin to reshape
the year ahead by the choices and decisions we make to ensure a greater and
more glorious year ahead. We have people that we must quietly say bye bye to be
able to make a better year out of this year because they are caustic and
harrowing in our lives such people never see anything good in what we hope and
dream about and they are quick to kill our dreams and such people you must work
away from now.
2013 must be better and the only way to
achieve this dream is to pay the price of greatness now and then begin to live
our dream lives. Do not belittle yourself, do not allow any man ridicule your
efforts and keep your dreams close to your chest except when you are amongst
true friends. If you did excellently well in 2013 then celebrate your victories
and if you did not perform up to par then review what went wrong and resolve to
giving this new-year your all and by the special grace of GOD ALMIGHTY will see
at the top.
Remember to raise the bar, and again raise the
bar, because when you aim for Jupiter you might just make the moon but when all
you aim for is the moon who knows where you might land. So take off the limits
and raise the bar because you are wired to do more and be more, you are more
than you appear to be, deep on the inside of you lies TREASURES! Untapped
potential, unimaginable wealth, fame, success and renown, it is time to
discover the you that only you can see. Unleash your hidden potential and
unlock your greatness in 2013. If not you! then who?
